Slow Cooked Rogan Josh with Beef or Lamb

Rogan Josh is a mild to medium indian curry that combines tomatoes and onions with paprika, cardamom and other authentic indian spices, we use Pataks Rogan Josh Curry Paste to simplify the process. Cooking the Rogan Josh in the slow cooker guarantees nice and tender meat and is such an easy way to cook it. You can use beef or lamb for this recipe.

Serves 8

  • 1 kilo beef or lamb, diced
  • 2/3 jar or 1 jar for stronger taste of Pataks Rogan Josh Paste
  • 800gm tin diced tomatoes
  • 3 carrots, sliced thick
  • 2 zucchinis, sliced thick
  • 2 onions, sliced
  • 2 potatoes, diced into cubes
  • 1 cup frozen beans
  • 2 teaspoons parsley flakes
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • salt & pepper


  1. Add all the ingredients to the slow cooker except the frozen beans and cook on low for at least 8 hours. Add the frozen beans around 4 to 6 hours in.
  2. Serve on a bed of rice.

Note: You can do this on the stove top or in the oven if you don’t have a slow cooker. For stove top start our high then lower to a simmer and cook for about 1 1/2 hours. For oven put in a casserole dish and cook on 180 for about 1 1/2 to 2 hours.
